OutPost 5: 2nd Day of New Year at Bukit Brown

OutPost 5 will be a day spent in the lovely Bukit Brown Cemetery (Contributions are welcome for Post-Museum’s capital).

Join us for a walk around this special corner of Singapore and find out for yourself why it’s worth conserving this historical and natural treasure trove!

Please take note:

1. We will be walking mainly on paved roads. Rain or Shine.

2. Wear light breathable clothing. Long pants and long sleeves if you are prone to insect bites or use a natural insect repellent.

3. Wear comfortable non-slip shoes as some areas have lots of leaves, roots and stones, safety is important.

4. Read up on Bukit Brown before going so you have a better understanding of the place.
(websites below)

5. Bring water, light snacks, rain gear/umbrella, a sunhat and waterproof your electronics and delicates.

6. Do go to the toilet before… there are NO facilities anywhere there or nearby.

The tour will start from 9am.

In addition there will be:
Painting time! We will be providing acrylic paint, cardboard pieces and small canvases for you to paint placards and paintings to help save Bukit Brown. We will collect and use these to push the campaign further.

OutPost 2: Singapore Really Really Free Market 19

Join us this coming Sat (10 Dec 2011),

Hong Lim Park, Free. 3-8pm.
OutPost 2: Singapore Really Really Free Market 19
The first-ever outdoor session since it started in Jan 2009.

Join us for this session of the temporary market based on the concept of giving and building a community based on sharing resources, caring for one another and improving the collective lives of all.

Everything is free! Come share your stuff (books, cds, toys, food, etc) or skills (tarot card reading, hair cutting, poetry writing, singing, etc) by giving them to others who need them!

By sharing, we are reducing consumption and waste of our natural resources, re-using what we don’t need anymore by passing it on, and most importantly, showing everyone that there are more sustainable and loving ways to live.

Please join us! Do announce your participation on the wall so that we have a rough gauge of how many mats/tables/chairs we need, and also, so that others can be inspired too!

And, of course, you’re also welcome to come by to just experience the joys of giving and making friends!

* This session is part of ‘Singapore Unity Project Commemorates International Human Rights Day’ [http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=172626642830327] which features a number of ‘booths’ from various local NGOs.
